Luminaria candlelit bags, honoring those who have survived or died from cancer, are being sold to raise funds for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Plainville, a 24-hour walk to benefit the American Cancer Society.

This year, more than 600 bags have been colorfully decorated by members of the Plainville Senior Center arts and crafts classes. The luminarias, which cost $5 each, will line the Relay for Life track on June 14 and 15 at Norton Park.

Anyone who wishes to purchase a luminaria may pick up an order form at the Plainville Public Library at 56 E. Main St., at Lavender Fields Day Spa, at 175 New Britain Ave., The Plainville Citizen, 333 East St., or Plainville Senior Citizens Center, 200 East St., all in Plainville, or by contacting Kris Farina at (860) 410-9820. They can also be purchased online at the Web site www.main.acsevents.org/rflctplainville.
